Novak Djokovic is set to address details about rumors related to “faking an injury” which he was accused of during the Australian Open this year. The World No.1 still managed to play throughout the Grand Slam, lifting the coveted cup as well as the Adelaide International after sustaining a hip injury in Adelaide.
But as many fans on social media slammed the 22-time Grand Slam champion for “faking an injury“, Djokovic has planned to reveal the truth behind the speculations in a special press conference. Also Read: Carlos Alcaraz Registers 1st Win At Argentina Open After Injury
“I know everything, but I can’t tell you anything, sorry. I decided to have a press conference. I will answer all questions there. I have already arranged with my PR team, the invitation will arrive in a few days,” Djokovic told Jelena Medic of Sportal.
“These two weeks I was thinking whether I should publish anything about the injury, and I told myself that I will, I want to. I will go into more details and publish some photos on social media about everything we went through,” he added.
In the Australian Open 2024 final, Djokovic defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3, 7-6 (4), 7-6 (5), and won the title. But he disclosed how the rumors affected him and that he would soon clear things out.
“Not so much for those people but for me- some comments bother me a little. You will get to know everything in a few days’ time,” Djokovic had said after winning the Australian Open. Also Read: “It’s Unbelievable,” Bjorn Borg On Rafael Nadal’s Training Routine
