Paul Heyman was born on September 11, 1965, in Westchester County, New York, to Sulamita and Richard S. Heyman. He started off as a photographer who was often in the arenas capturing images of pro wrestlers as soon as he was a youngster. Only the fact that he launched his own newsletter, The Wrestling Times Magazine, while also writing for Pro Wrestling Illustrated, could surpass that for a child of only 15 years old. Even before he was 15, he got his first pro wrestling job when he called the World Wrestling Federation and was granted backstage access to Madison Square Garden. Astonishing, isn’t it?
However, Heyman went on to work in the wrestling industry until 1988 when he moved on to become an announcer and manager. Under the names Paul E. Dangerously and Paul Heyman, he worked in World Championship Wrestling, Extreme Championship Wrestling, and World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment in the years to come. He has been showered with numerous awards over his career, including Pro Wrestling Illustrated Manager of the Year in 1992, Wrestling Observer Newsletter Best Booker (4 times), and Best Non-Wrestler (3 times) (6 times).
