Eddy Reynoso PROFILE


Eddy Reynoso is the current trainer and manager of Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and was Ring Magazine's Trainer of the Year in 2021.

Eddy Reynoso is a Mexican professional boxing coach who is the manager and trainer of four-division world champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez. At the age of 22, Reynoso was certified by CONADE (Certification System of the Sports Coach) to become a professional boxing coach.

Eddy is the head trainer and also the manager of Canelo. Going through the ranks, Canelo won his first world title at junior middleweight, defeated Matthew Hatton - brother of British legend Ricky Hatton - in 2011 via unanimous decision.

Canelo made six successful defences of his WBC title, including a victory over Shane Mosley, before coming up against Floyd Mayweather. Canelo, at the time aged 22, would suffer the first defeat of his professional career to Mayweather via majority decision.

IN 2018, Canelo signed a $365million, 11-fight deal with DAZN - the most lucrative deal in sports history for an athlete. He started with a routine win over Rocky Fielding in the same year before unifying the middleweight division against Daniel Jacobs and stopping Sergey Kovalev at light heavyweight in 2019

Between 2020 to 2021, Canelo not only became a four-division world champion but also became undisputed champion at super middleweight - the first time it had happened at 168lbs in boxing history.
